I’m standing on the beach of Koh Phangan. I scoop up a handful of psilocybin mushrooms, drop them into a blender, and pour in a local analogue of Red Bull. Under the influence of the blender, they grind, mixing with the energy drink until smooth. My perception is distorted. Neither the forest, nor the South China Sea, nor the music, nor the stars will be the same, at least that night.
