"I don't buy flowers, I find them" from the series "A very gentle forest"
Canvas, mixed media, acrylic, oil, oil pastel
100х70
It is becoming less and less common for modern people to escape from the artificial urban environment and find themselves in nature. With the arrival of warmer weather, people are increasingly moving out of dusty areas, flooding public gardens, parks, nearby forests and lakes. And one of them took a sketchbook with her to capture colorful characters and fascinating scenes on paper.
In her project “Gentle Forest,” artist Daria Semenova presents the result of many months of observations of the forest, its visitors, their lives and habits. It does not directly reproduce what it saw, but refracts visible reality and opens up a world through the looking glass, full of mysteries and beauty.
The heroes of her works live and do ordinary things: fishing, doing gymnastics, walking with their beloved pets, thus reflecting their prototypes from a parallel reality.
The exhibition invites you to go beyond the ordinary and take a walk through a fairytale forest, where every step reveals new secrets and wonders. And between the subtle tints of bright colors, you can catch the tenderness of the local people and the world around them.
